Malubog Lake And Malubog Falls: Exploring Toledo’s Wondrous Treasures
From the gleaming 10,000 Roses in Cordova to TIEZA Botanical Garden, there have been quite a few scenic Instgrammable spots in Cebu that have been making the rounds on social media as of late. With their picturesque scenery and incredible floral displays, these spots have mesmerized and captured the hearts of almost everyone in Cebu. And while these spots are fairly popular and picturesque, I somehow have little interest in visiting and seeing them in person. Hanginan: An Uphill Hike To Maasin City’s Miraculous Pilgrimage Site
Hanginan – one of Leyte’s most revered pilgrimage sites – has been on my personal travel wish-list, for the past 6 months. From fellow adventurer Marj of Dakilang Laagan to a trio of Facebook followers, many have raved and praised about the awe-inspiring scenery and spiritual feel of this mountainous village in Maasin city. And finally, I, together with my wife (Mrs. Bisaya Traveler), got the opportunity to hike the Hanginan trail and see its miraculous site – the San Francisco Javier Shrine. Even though it was a quick escape to Cebu’s cool highlands, I must say our Terrazas De Flores visit was nothing short of pleasant. Trust…

Sumilon Island: An Affordable DIY Trip To Cebu’s Gorgeous Sandbar
Sumilon Island has been on my travel wish-list ever since wanderlust woke up a couple of years ago. With its clear azure waters and pristine white sands, Sumilon Island’s sandbar is by far a photogenic and mesmerizing tropical idyll that lures all types of travelers. But, the prices for the day tour (PHP 1,500 to 2,000 per person) from Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort were a bit steep for my taste. And while there’s the boat rentals available, I didn’t have a team or group whom I can split the costs with for this option (I don’t like the joiners alternative too). Thankfully, I now have a bunch of enthusiastic travel…
