Hanginan: An Uphill Hike To Maasin City’s Miraculous Pilgrimage Site
Hanginan – one of Leyte’s most revered pilgrimage sites – has been on my personal travel wish-list, for the past 6 months. From fellow adventurer Marj of Dakilang Laagan to a trio of Facebook followers, many have raved and praised about the awe-inspiring scenery and spiritual feel of this mountainous village in Maasin city. And finally, I, together with my wife (Mrs. Bisaya Traveler), got the opportunity to hike the Hanginan trail and see its miraculous site – the San Francisco Javier Shrine. Although the trail overall is a little short (about 3 kilometers), it was still a sweet, blissful and slightly exhausting hike. Not to mention, it gave me…

Terrazas De Flores Botanical Garden: Cebu’s Breezy Floral Nirvana
I always look forward to spending some quality time with my family every Sunday. From our traditional lunch get-togethers at Ayala to the road trips down south, Sundays with my folks just evoke a positive, blissful and easygoing feeling. And while there’s the boat rentals available, I didn’t have a team or group whom I can split the costs with for this option (I don’t like the joiners alternative too). Thankfully, I now have a bunch of enthusiastic travel…

Ili Rock: Soaking Up The Awe-Inspiring Coastal Views In Boljoon
I’m absolute a sucker for high points with dramatic overlooking panoramas. Whether it’s on top of a summit or from an urban observation deck, I always look forward to enjoying jaw-dropping views from a bird’s perspective, whenever I hit the road. As a matter of fact, it is by far one of the reasons why I enjoy scaling steep mountains. And just recently, I bumped into another sweet overlooking spot in Cebu where I can find my bliss – Ili Rock, or also known as Ilihan in Boljoon. Although it’s a bit controversial, I and the rest of Team Bang just can’t resist the opportunity to see the lovely heritage…
